Hi, I’m Ki—owner, lead trainer, and the heart behind Ki’s K-9 Dog Training. I serve the Virginia Beach and Tidewater area, and I’ve been working with dogs for most of my life. For the past 8 years, I’ve trained professionally, helping dogs and their humans build stronger, safer, and more joyful relationships. I’m certified through the SIRUS Academy by Ian Dunbar, and I’ve earned multiple credentials in dog aggression, psychology, behavior, service dog training, protection work, sports dog training, fear rehab, nutrition, and more. I’m also a certified educator collar trainer. But what really sets me apart isn’t just the certifications—it’s how I connect with dogs and their people. And absolutely love every minute of it

My Training Philosophy

My style is relationship-based and personalized to fit you and your dog’s lifestyle. I use balanced training, which means we reinforce good behavior with positive rewards and use minimal, thoughtful consequences when needed. The goal is always to make training feel like play—not punishment. Every dog is different. Every household is different. So I tailor each program to meet your dog where they are, and help you get where you want to be.

Before we begin any training, I offer a free consultation. It’s a deep dive—about four pages long—so I can understand your goals, your dog’s behavior, and your home dynamic. How We Train

I offer one-on-one sessions, board and train programs, and a hybrid option where you work alongside your dog during their board and train. I also offer in-home training while you’re at work or busy—so your dog gets the attention they need without disrupting your schedule.

Making Training Accessible

I started this business because I saw how many dogs were being rehomed or misunderstood due to behaviors that could’ve been corrected with the right training. I’ve lived that story—I rescued a German shepherd who’d been rehomed three times before finding stability with me. That experience changed everything. I believe good training shouldn’t be a luxury. It should be accessible. Because when a dog learns how to thrive, the whole family benefits.
